2024 International Workshop

On October 14, 2024, an international workshop was held at Ewha Womans University, bringing together global experts in the fields of neurolinguistics and brain science to share the latest technologies, research developments, and engage in meaningful discussion.

The first session began with a presentation by Professor Kyogu Lee from Seoul National University, titled “Hear what you attend to: Separation of a target speech signal guided by EEG decoding.” This was followed by a talk from Dr. Jungmee Park of BELL Therapeutics on “Digital Therapeutics for Auditory Rehabilitation in Cochlear Implant Users.” Professor Swathi Kiran from Boston University then introduced “Constant Therapy,” a program designed to support cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation.

The second session, centered on the theme “Neuromodulations and Cognitive-Linguistic Enhancements,” opened with Professor Sungshin Kim from Hanyang University, who spoke on “Noninvasive brain stimulation modulating memory functions using transcranial magnetic stimulation.” This was followed by a joint presentation by Professors Sangbeom Jeon and Jee Eun Sung of Ewha Womans University on “Vagus nerve stimulation for cognitive enhancement.” Professor Sora Ahn of Ewha Womans University concluded the session with a talk on “Large-scale brain network effects induced by vagus nerve stimulation.”

Researchers from NABLe and master’s students from Ewha’s Department of Communication Disorders also actively participated in the event. It was a meaningful opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in neurolinguistics and brain science, while sharing in the enthusiasm and collaborative spirit of the academic community.

2024년 10월 14일, 이화여자대학교에서 신경언어 및 뇌과학 분야의 국제적 전문가들이 모여 최신 기술과 연구 동향을 공유하고 토론하는 International Workshop이 진행되었습니다. 

첫 번째로 서울대학교 이교구 교수님의 ‘Hear what you attend to: separation of a target speech signal guided by EEG decoding’을 주제로 한 강연이 있었습니다. 이후, BELL Therapeutic 박정미 박사님의 ‘Digital Therapeutics for Auditory Rehabilitation in Cochlear Implant Users’와 관련한 말씀이 진행되었습니다. 그리고 Boston University의 Swathi Kiran 교수님이 ‘Constant Therapy’에 대한 이야기를 해주셨습니다. 

두 번째 세션은 Neuromodulations and Cognitive-Linguistic Enhancements 라는 대주제로 이루어졌습니다. 먼저 한양대학교 김성신 교수님의 ‘Noninvasive brain stimulation modulating memory functions using a transcranial magnetic stimulation’에 대한 말씀이 있으셨습니다. 나아가 이화여자대학교 전상범, 성지은 교수님의 ‘Vagus nerve stimulation for cognitive enhancement’을 주제로 강연이 시행되었습니다. 또한 이화여자대학교 안소라 교수님의 ‘Large-scale brain network effects induced by vagus nerve stimulation’과 관련한 이야기가 이어졌습니다. 

NABLe 연구원들과 이화여자대학교 언어병리학과 석사과정 선생님들도 많은 관심으로 자리에 참여하였습니다. 신경언어와 뇌과학 분야의 최신 동향에 대해 배울 수 있으며, 열정적인 분위기를 나누는 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.
