2026 The 64th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Aphasia in Liège, Belgium
The 64th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Aphasia (AoA) was held in Liège, Belgium, from October 4 to 6, 2026. This year, Dr. Jee Eun Sung attended the conference together with three PhD students—Jimin Park, Junyoung Shin, and Yae Rin Yoo.
During the conference, Dr. Sung served as a moderator for two sessions: Platform Session 2: Natural Speech & Elicited Discourse and Symposium 4: Characteristics of Agrammatism in Morphologically Complex Languages. Through these sessions, she facilitated discussions on current research in discourse, aphasia, and cross-linguistic approaches to language impairment.
Throughout the conference, we had the valuable opportunity to engage with leading researchers in aphasia and related fields, attend insightful presentations, and exchange ideas with members of the international research community. The conference provided meaningful insights into recent advances in aphasia research and neurogenic communication disorders, while also offering opportunities to learn about diverse methodological approaches and emerging research directions.
Participating in AoA 2026 was especially valuable for broadening our academic perspectives and connecting our own research interests with current developments in the field. Discussions with researchers from different institutions also inspired new ideas for future studies and collaborations.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sung for providing us with this wonderful opportunity and making the experience both academically enriching and memorable.
