2026 Korean Academy of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Conference

On Saturday, September 12, the 2026 Conference of the Korean Academy of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology was held at Shalom Hall, Kangnam University. The conference brought together undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, and faculty members in the field of speech-language pathology from across Korea, providing a valuable opportunity to share research conducted over the past year and engage in meaningful academic exchange.

A highlight of the conference was a keynote lecture by Professor Jee Eun Sung, titled “The Future of Comprehensive Language Rehabilitation: Neuromodulation and Neuroplasticity.” Drawing on collaborative research conducted with researchers from the Ewha Brain Institute at Ewha Womans University, Boston University, Johns Hopkins University, Hallym University, and other institutions, the lecture provided an opportunity to reflect on future directions for research in speech-language pathology and the training of the next generation of researchers and clinicians.

A total of 14 doctoral and master’s students from our lab attended the conference and contributed 10 abstracts, including two oral presentations and eight poster presentations. We were also delighted to celebrate Jimin Park’s achievements: she received the Outstanding Paper Award in the Neurogenic Communication Disorders category for her poster presentation (Park, J., Kim, S. E., Yoon, M., Jeong, J. H., & Sung, J. E. Core lexicon analysis of a storytelling task in Korean speakers with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease) and was selected as a recipient of the Seung-Hwan Lee Scholarship. These achievements were a proud recognition of the quality and academic contributions of the research conducted in our lab.

We look forward to seeing each of our lab members continue to pursue active and diverse research based on their individual areas of interest.

9월 12일(토), 강남대학교 샬롬관에서 2026년 한국언어청각임상학회 학술대회가 개최되었습니다. 올해 학술대회에도 국내 언어병리학계의 학부생·대학원생·연구자·교수들이 대거 참여하여, 한 해 동안 수행한 연구들을 공유하고 활발하게 교류하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌습니다.

특히 저희 연구실의 성지은 교수님께서 <포괄적 언어재활의 미래: 신경조절과 뇌가소성>을 주제로 기조강연을 진행하셨습니다. 이화여자대학교 뇌융합과학연구원, Boston University, Johns Hopkins University, 한림대학교 등 국내외 다양한 공동연구진과 함께 수행한 연구들을 바탕으로, 언어병리학 분야에서 앞으로 나아가야 할 연구의 방향과 미래 인재 양성에 대해 함께 고민해보는 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

저희 연구실의 학생들은 총 14명의 박사 및 석사 과정 선생님들이 참석하였고, 10편의 초록을 제출, 이 중 2편의 구두발표와 8편의 포스터발표를 진행하였습니다. 또한 박사과정 박지민 학생은 포스터발표 부문 신경언어장애 우수논문상 (박지민, 김소은, 윤미류, 정지향, 성지은. 인지기능 저하 단계에 따른 핵심 명사 및 동사 산출 특성인지기능 저하 단계에 따른 핵심 명사 및 동사 산출 특성)을 수상하고 이승환 장학금 수여자로도 선정되는 뜻깊은 성과를 거두었습니다. 이를 통해 저희 연구실에서 수행하고 있는 연구의 우수성과 학문적 기여를 다시금 확인할 수 있었던 매우 자랑스러운 순간이었습니다.

앞으로도 각 선생님들께서 자신의 관심 분야를 바탕으로 활발하고 다양한 연구를 이어가시기를 기대합니다.
