From May 26–29, the 55th Clinical Aphasiology Conference (CAC) was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This year, Dr. Sung attended the conference together with five PhD students—Jimin Park, Soeun Kim, Junyoung Shin, Yae Rin Yoo, and Seolmyeong Seo.
We are especially proud to share that Soeun Kim received the prestigious National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) Research Symposium in Clinical Aphasiology (RSCA) award.
During the conference, we had the invaluable opportunity to engage with leading researchers in the field, attend inspiring presentations, and connect with members of the international aphasia research community. The experience provided meaningful insights into current research trends and fostered new ideas for future collaborations.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sung for making this enriching and memorable experience possible.

It was a meaningful and memorable opportunity to meet Dr. Malcolm R. McNeil, who served as Dr. Sung’s doctoral advisor during her PhD training. Gathering in Pittsburgh—the city where Dr. Sung completed her doctoral studies—with her current PhD students made the occasion especially special. The reunion was further enriched by the presence of many of Dr. McNeil’s colleagues, former students, and longtime collaborators who had also attended the CAC, making it a truly memorable celebration of academic mentorship and professional connections.
